DSLNG Holds Writing Competition for Banggai Journalists to Commemorate World Maleo Day

To commemorate World Maleo Day on November 21, DSLNG held a writing competition about the company's role in the conservation of this endemic Sulawesi bird, which was participated by journalists from Banggai Regency, Central Sulawesi. The competition, which opened in early November 2024, was joined by dozens of journalists from various media outlets. Several articles on the conservation of this endangered species were published in the media, starting with the efforts to protect the maleo through DSLNG's ex-situ maleo conservation, as well as the sustainability impact of the positive initiatives carried out by the company. From the writing competition with a total prize pool of several million rupiahs, Iskandar Djiada from Banggai Raya won first place and received a Samsung Tab A9+ for his article titled "Lestari Maleoku, Budaya Banggaiku Terpelihara" (My Maleo is Preserved, My Banggai Culture is Maintained). Other winners also received various prizes including gadgets, smartwatches, and other attractive consolation prizes. Since initiating the world’s first ex-situ maleo conservation in 2012, DSLNG has released 127 maleo chicks into the Bakiriang Wildlife Sanctuary, Central Sulawesi, as of 2024.

SMAN 1 Batui Students Visit DSLNG Information Center

The DSLNG Oil and Gas Information Center welcomed another study visit from SMA Negeri 1 Batui on November 9, 2024. A total of 40 students and 10 accompanying teachers gained an in-depth understanding of the characteristics of LNG and the oil and gas industry, covering topics from hydrocarbons to a discussion of the role of gas in the energy transition era. The students enthusiastically asked critical questions about geological formations, seismic surveys and processing at the LNG Plant which were answered comprehensively by the officers. Established on March 1, 2013, the DSLNG Oil and Gas Information Center is open to the public, becoming a learning tool for students, the general public, and various groups who want to know more deeply about the oil and gas industry and DSLNG projects.

Supporting Food Security, DSLNG Distributes 200 Egg-laying Chicken Seedlings

DSLNG distributed 200 laying hen seedlings to the Motoutus Chicken Breeder Group on Tuesday (15/10/2024). The laying hen seedlings were handed over to a verified community livestock group with adequate cages facilities and running operations. This CSR program aimed at farmers is expected to provide economic benefits and improve the welfare of residents. It is also in line with the company's program to support food security, which is also in line with the current government's vision. In addition, the benefits can also be felt directly by the community to reduce dependence on egg supplies from outside the region.
